FCCACT Officers

The oath taking of the newly elected officers of the Filipino Community Council of the ACT Inc was held on 17 February 2011. The ceremony at the ACT Legislative Assembly and officiated by the friend of the Filipino community – Mr. Alistair Coe, Member of the ACT Legislative Assembly.
He took us to the board room and served us some white and red wine and cake. I forgot to check whether they were Canberra wines. He was so engaging that he even suggested that each one of us will pose for a photo with him when we sign our certificate and he would countersign them too. I would definitely frame my oath of office and the picture with him. I predict that he will become an ACT Chief Minister in the near future or even proceed to Federal politics. More power to you Alistair.
We also welcomed our two new members since the last elections in 2008 – Rondanihan and Pinoy Football Aid. The Rondanihan is headed by Mr Ian Bull – they have played in various community activities such as the Philippine Independence Day in 2010 and the Pasko sa Canberra.
The Pinoy Football Aid Inc is headed by Sorin Clenci. Their group’s aim is to raise fund to help 15 year old football players from the Philippines attend competitions at the Kanga Cup in Canberra.
